One thing I’ve always knew about Azure Epoch for the past ten years is that it would end with a massive storm akin to the biblical flood. While researching Megaman Legends, I found its original name in Japanese: Rockman DASH, DASH being an acronym standing for Digouter's Adventure Stories in the Halcyon Days; which in Greek mythology, the "Halcyon Days" is a period of seven days in winter when storms never occur, having calm winds and waves.
The Halcyon Days sounded so majestic, like it was a farewell to ancient times and youthful days. There was a Bleach chapter, if I’m recalling it correctly, called “Farewell, Halcyon Days,” where Orihime (spoilers) was saying her goodbyes before the Arrancars took her to Hueco Mundo. The phrase Halcyon Days just felt so…right to use for Azure Epoch.
So I knew how it would end. Say hello to the Halcyon Garden.
The Halcyon Garden is the ancestral home of the Etherenians after they were marooned on Gaea. The Halcyon Garden is powered by the seven Azure gems, and in its dormant state, it resembles an island where lay a lavishly decorated city of mosaic plazas, Byzantine domes and buildings, and winding roads for hovercraft traffic. When the Azure gems are brought back to Halcyon Garden, the island's superstructure will be stripped down to its original incarnation. Though ancient, Halcyon Garden possesses a couple of technological defenses against unwanted intruders, all of which have remained functional even after being buried for ages. Silver-and-cyan fighter drones patrol the skies and its most secure area is safeguarded by the Halcyon Ghost, a guardian spirit.
The exact origins of Halcyon Garden are unknown. Originally a spaceship, Halcyon Garden was used by the ancient Etherenians for their interstellar travels. The vessel's warp drive was powered by the Azure gems, stones that harnessed the power of elements to create gravitational resonance. When the ship arrived at Gaea in the ancient past, Halcyon Garden experienced a malfunction due to the Etherenians’ inability to control the Azure gems, leaving the ship's engine on the verge of creating a black hole - an "infinite storm" - that would consume everything. The Azure gems were rendered inert by ancient Etherenians to prevent this catastrophe, making Halcyon Garden crash land on Gaea.
With the Etherenians marooned and crippled, the now-inoperable Halcyon Garden was turned into a floating island home for the Etherenians. Soon, the space-faring Etherenians died off, and their descendants regarded their ancestral home as a divine legend.
