🧠The Journey So Far… But Where Do We Go From Here?
By Dash Rumble (...with Remy peeking over his shoulder and correcting all his typos)
We did it. Goodbye, Halcyon Days—our first real adventure—is officially finished.
110,000 words. 405 pages. Eight action-packed episodes of mystery, madness, mech-fights, sandstorms, ancient ruins, and the first glimmers of the Spiral threatening Gaea.
We set out to tell the story of what happened before the main quest began—to show what Dash, Remy (that’s me), and the rest of the Venture Corps went through before things really kicked into gear. And now? Season Zero is complete. Fully revised. Fully written. We lived it.
But now comes the question:
How do you want to read it?
Do you want to experience Goodbye, Halcyon Days episode by episode, pulp-serial style, one cliffhanger at a time here on Substack? Or do you prefer it as one complete volume—clean, edited, and soon to be self-published as a proper book?
I’m leaning toward giving you both.
Because if you’re like us, and you love airships, sky pirates, sand-surfers, giant mechs, mysterious gems, and a world on the brink of collapse… you might not want to wait for it all to drop at once.
So here’s what I’m thinking:
I’ll post each episode one by one here, starting soon.
If you're a paid subscriber, you’ll also get bonus behind-the-scenes stuff: Remy's logs, Tadashi’s letters, sketches of old ruins, lore breakdowns.
And once it’s fully out, you’ll also get first dibs on the full ebook and print edition.
Sound fair?
Drop a comment below:
Do you want it episodic like a pulp adventure magazine?
Or do you want to wait for the full book and dive in all at once?
This story means a lot to me. It’s been years in the making. But I want to share it in the way you’ll enjoy it most.
Until then... keep your eyes on the sky.
The Azure’s calling.
